Hi friends ,
I was fascinated by two blogs which I saw today one of Rajee sood, Vineeta Nair of Artnlight and my dear friend and ex collegue Sangeeta Sinha. From long I was thinking of writing my own blog. Finally I took the plunge today.

I was lookin for a topic to start blogging on, and after seeing the Goan house which was posted on Rajee's blog 'Clik' , I got the idea. I stay in a small city of Karnataka called Dharwad. This is a city I was born in. And lately I discovered the rich heritage this city carries.
I moved to Dharwad after my stay in big cities. the last one being Bangalore and I just love Bangalore. When I moved here I was wondering what do I do here? I failed to realize my mission and when I lost my job in IT sector last year was I put into tapping my own potential. I had a creative mind but never pursued it. Finally I gathered courage and with the motivation and encouragement of a family friend Mrs Rekha shettar who is an architect and interior decorator I got into landscaping which I love doing.
Ofcourse I have the support of my parents, Inlaws , kids, dear friends and not to forget my dear ever supportive husband.
And I am loving every bit of the work I am doing. I am assisting Rekha aunty in her book on Old bungalows of Dharwad, Unusual trees of Dharwad, anything that has to do with history of Dharwad.
I am also into Landscaping as I mentioned and recently took to restoration , reviving and designing of antiques.especially fascinated by lamps.
Ok, so let me start by what we saw today.
Today we met Mr, Jagdish Rege. His ancestors migrated to Dharwad from Raigad taluka of Belgaum district in 1922. And when we went to his house , we were just in awe of the old furniture we saw . He also had and old Raja Ravi verma painting . just look at the furniture we saw. here goes...
The last photo is of the Kerosene Lights which were used in vehicles. the left one is the front lamp and the right one is the rear lights used for buses. The Rege family used to run Steam buses from Dharwad to Saudatti and Raigad .
